Pastor Abel Gurrola
Abel Gurrola is the lead pastor of Iglesia Vida. He is married to Cecilia Gurrola, and has 6 children. He was born in Houston, Tx, but raised in El Paso, Tx.
After finishing high school, he spent 4 years in the Marines from 1990 to 1994. After leaving the military, he started school and finished his studies at Western Technical College, in El Paso, TX with a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. Years later, he also studied at the Hispanic Seminary of Missiology in Phoenix, AZ, and graduated with a degree in Theological Studies.
In 2008, Pastor Abel received a calling to start a new Hispanic church in the East Valley of Phoenix, AZ. A church that would reach the un-churched and help them develop the character of Christ, equip them for ministry, and send them on their mission in the world.
Pastor Abel along with his wife and a small group of people that captured the vision for a new Hispanic church in the East Valley of Phoenix, AZ, launched Iglesia Vida in April 2010, and had their first public service in the facilities of Chandler High School.
After working 18 years at Intel, the largest producer of computer processors, Pastor Abel left Intel in 2016 to devote himself full time to Iglesia Vida.
Pastor Abel's passion is to reach the un-churched for Christ so that they may discover their purpose in life, reach their God given potential, and impact the world for Christ.
